Despite repeated assurances from authorities with regard to reviving the project, the proposed railway halt station at Nedumbassery in Kochi is yet to take off on account of a delay in closing down the level crossing at Akaparambu. It is being maintained that the paper works for the project is already completed but the construction of the halt station has been pending owing to a delay in getting consents from concerned local bodies. The Rs 93 lakh project was aimed at providing a convenient rail link to the airport.
