About 19,000 sq m of vacant land available with the Visakhapatnam railway station will be commercially exploited to give a facelift to the station. The estimated project cost is Rs 200 crore. In the first phase, 23 major railway stations will be redeveloped .The 19,000 sq m of vacant land comprises two parcels, one 15,400 sq m and second 3,600 sq m. This land is encroachment free. The revenue generated from commercial exploitation of this land will be used to develop the Vizag station into a world-class one.
