Bengaluru metro to get modern ballastless track

A Salasar Techno Engineering Ltd subsidiary has been recently awarded a contract worth Rs 252 crore by Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRC) to design, supply, install, test, and commission ballastless track for Namma Metro.

Salasar Adorus Infra LLP recently received a contract from Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd (TEXMACO) to install ballastless railway tracks for the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation.

As a part of the contract, Salasar will construct the ballastless track for a long stretch of about 175 km and plans to complete a stretch of 5 km every month, subject to availability of the viaduct.

The design of ballastless tracks ensures longevity with low maintenance and is highly consistent in track geometry.

Project execution will commence from the second week of January 2021. Project completion is estimated to be in the next two to three years in accordance with the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation guidelines.
