Bengaluru Plans 72 km Namma Metro Line with 50+ Stations

Bengaluru’s Namma Metro is set to expand with its longest planned corridor spanning 72 km, featuring more than 50 stations. The new line will connect Bannerghatta to Whitefield, passing through major IT hubs and including a spur to the city’s Sports Complex. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has completed feasibility studies for the corridor, though detailed project reports and construction timelines are still in progress. The project is expected to address growing urban transit demands while integrating advanced tunnelling and track technologies. Once operational, this corridor will become the longest under the Namma Metro network and is part of a larger vision to expand metro connectivity across the city, enhancing accessibility and easing commuter movement in one of India’s fastest-growing urban centres.
