Chennai Metro Phase II: Aurionpro Solutions secures contract

Aurionpro Solutions, a technology provider in the transit and fintech space, announced that it has secured a contract with Chennai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (CMRL) to deliver Automated Fare Collection (AFC) systems for Phase II of the Chennai Metro. Aurionpro will deploy an efficient, secure, and seamless AFC system that can manage high passenger volumes while enhancing operational effectiveness and traveler convenience by leveraging its proven expertise in transit solutions.

Under the contract, Aurionpro Solutions will handle the entire station-level Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system delivery process, including design, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, training, and ongoing maintenance.

According to a press release, the project, located in Chennai's OMR area — a bustling IT corridor — aims to improve commuter experiences by providing Metro passengers with advanced, simplified ticketing and fare management systems. Through the integration of cutting-edge technology and seamless service, Aurionpro aims to support CMRL in enhancing efficiency and convenience for Metro commuters in Chennai.

The project covers Corridors 3 and 5, running from Sholinganallur to Sipcot and from Koyambedu to Elcot Park, respectively. The implementation phase of this long-term project will be followed by extended maintenance and support services, the release added.
