MMRC Reports Progress in Mumbai Metro Line 3 Project

According to the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC), the Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Colaba- Bandra-SEEPZ) project has made 82% progress overall, with over 60% of the track laying work done.

For track laying construction, Head Hardened (HH) rails made in Japan and imported from Japan are being installed. These rails are approximately 50% more pressure-resistant than standard rails.

The first application of Low Vibration Track (High Attenuation) technology in India is anticipated to result in a 22VdB (vibration measurement) reduction in noise and vibration levels during train operation. According to the report, Mumbai Metro 3's Phase 1 between BKC and SEEPZ is anticipated to be finished and made accessible to the public by December this year.

For Phase 1 of the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) Metro 3 underground line, which will include 26 stops, more than 90% of the stations are prepared, and 55% of the system work has been completed. The first phase of construction for these nine subterranean stations ranges in depth from 20 to 29 metres. Operations for Phase 1 will be overseen by the backup Operation Control Centre at BKC until the Aarey metro depot is ready.
