Pune-Nashik high-speed railway project gains traction

The Pune-Nashik high-speed railway project has gained momentum, and land acquisition and various other activities are being carried out concurrently for the same, with the Maharashtra government putting forth the proposal as a top priority and one for regular supervision. Importantly, the project is intended to connect the northern and southern states, as well as to aid in the transportation of agricultural (and industrial) produce from Maharashtra to the rest of the country.

Land acquisition has already been completed in four of the twelve villages in Haveli taluka. Land valuation and measurement has also been completed in other areas. Chief minister Eknath Shinde and deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis have established a task force to monitor the progress of the Pune-Nashik high-speed railway project and the Pune ring road project.
