RailTel Secures Rs. 1.87 bn in New Railway, Healthcare Orders

RailTel Corporation of India has received two work orders worth a combined Rs. 1.87 bn from the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Secunderabad, and Health Insurance TPA of India. The contracts cover recruitment examination services, IT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions, and were received on October 16, according to the company’s regulatory filing.

The larger order, valued at Rs. 1.68 bn excluding taxes, is for assessment, recruitment and multimedia recruitment system services covering the pre-examination and post-examination stages of RRB recruitment. The work will be delivered through various Centralised Employment Notifications and is scheduled to continue until October 15, 2031.

The second contract, worth Rs. 189.9 mn including taxes, has been awarded by Health Insurance TPA of India for IT infrastructure and cybersecurity solutions. The three-year agreement is scheduled to run until October 16, 2029.

The latest wins add to RailTel’s project pipeline. On October 13, the company received a Rs. 490 mn order, including taxes, from the Odisha government’s Higher Education Department to develop 83 digital application modules under a Comprehensive Digital Governance Platform. In August, it secured a Rs. 1.65 bn contract from Western Coalfields to establish a Multiprotocol Label Switching Virtual Private Network, or MPLS VPN, on a rental basis for 60 months.

RailTel also received a Rs. 1.67 bn order from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation in August to extend an existing infrastructure-as-a-service arrangement by one year, with additional components, until February 9, 2027. The company retained its FY27 revenue growth guidance of 20 to 25 per cent, with telecom revenue projected to grow 7 to 8 per cent and the project business expected to expand 40 to 50 per cent annually. Its project-to-telecom revenue mix, currently around 60:40, could move to 70:30, potentially affecting overall margins.
