New Four-Line Highway to be Built Between Chennai & Tirupati

A four lane 18 km highway between Chennai and Tirupati is set to complete by September, reducing the travel time between the two cities. The time is expected to shorten by 30-45 minutes. Currently, 15 km out of the 18 km stretch is complete.
The highway will pass through Thaneerkulam, Thozhur, and Sevvapet and connect the Tiruvallur Bypass at Thirupachur with the Veppampattu Bypass at Thiruninravur on the Chennai–Tirupati Highway.
The project, which costs a total of Rs 3 billion, was launched in 2022 as part of a larger plan to make the entire 62-km Thiruninravur–Tirupati stretch a four-lane access-controlled road. The original aim was to create a six lane road, but widening to six lanes has been delayed due to land acquisition issues.

Your next big infra connection is waiting at RAHSTA 2025 – Asia’s Biggest Roads & Highways Expo, Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai. Don’t miss out!
