Revamp needed

Anna Hazare's fight against corruption has come as a wake up call to the construction industry. The last few months have been especially trying for the industry with several builders' frauds and malpractices coming to fore. These have put the industry on the backfoot, with investors shying away from taking up new projects. As such, the traditional image of the industry was far from good, with people comparing buildings with goons. Now that the industry is slowly rising from these ashes to gain a firm foothold on the global platform, such scams actually regress the industry to its original status. So a strong regulation like the Jan Lokpal is the need of the hour. Hope the government is listening.
