InterWood Plus brand is presently making lots of waves in the plywood and interior infrastructure products market. Vidhata Industries has been here for a while, but it has lately gone on an overdrive and is focusing on a pan Indian market. CW caught up with Amit Juneja, Director - Production, and took a dive into the company’s plans for the immediate future.

InterWood Plus is creating a lot of buzz in the media these days. Kindly elaborate on this?
It clearly means that our efforts to grab attention are generating good results, if you have been the one to have a look at them.
Vidhata Industries has been here in the market for 30 years now, but the company has not been able to expand its market footprint due to the overbooked production plant. Last year, the company secured a license to set up one of the largest plywood plant in North India, which just went into production in August this year. Hence, you see us being active now.

With many plywood companies in the market, how does InterWood plan to stay ahead of the competition?
InterWood is the country’s first plywood range that has successfully attempted to integrate some advanced and globally accepted technologies into itself. This plant incorporates new generation plywood techs such as Dual Temperature Pressing, ECS (Extra Compression System) and SLC (Surface Levelling Cipher), to create a plywood range that is technically far superior, surpasses any existing testing parameters and aesthetically takes a quantum leap from all competition.

This is just not our claim, but our claims have been substantiated by credible testimonials and certifications. That is the reason the company provides a 25 years guarantee for its product range. This highlights the confidence in the product and underlying technologies.

Your company was nominated for ET Now - Indiamart Leaders of Tomorrow award lately. Your reactions.
Yes, we were one of the successful nominations into these awards in our product category. This is one formal testimonial which explains that we are taking a 360 degree approach to create a new general plywood company. We aim at being an outstanding player in the plywood manufacturing arena.

Be it friendly HR policies, focus on quality, focus on marketing and advertisement, the entire endeavour is to create a brand and a company which would proudly exist among top interior infrastructure brands of the country in the near future.

How are your marketing strategies planned?
Our sales team works under the superlative leadership of Salil Chopra, who is an ex-CEO of a very well known Indian faucet brand. He is indeed the honorary director for our sales function. With him, we also have Iyer, who has a diversified experience with some of the well known companies.

It is their training, guidance coupled with unmatched market experience, that has enabled us to create an unparallel and enviable sales team.

How do you plan your company’s footprint for the future?
Recently, we had a regional focus that spread across the south and western India. But now, after commissioning the state-of-the-art 40,000 sq m plant, with a production capacity of approximately 10 million sq ft per annum, I believe we are totally geared to be present in all states.

Hence, we have now opened new areas for our team and have no bars.
