Shipping Corporation of India Targets Rs. 20 bn PAT in FY27

Shipping Corporation of India (SCI), the country’s largest shipping company, is targeting profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 20 bn in FY27, Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal said on Friday. The projection was made at an event marking the company’s 65th Foundation Day.

Sonowal said SCI had already recorded PAT of more than Rs. 6 bn in the first quarter of the current financial year. Based on the performance in the opening quarter, the minister said the company was on course to exceed Rs. 20 bn in PAT during FY27.

SCI’s FY26 financial report showed standalone PAT of Rs. 13.53 bn. Its standalone operating revenue for the year stood at Rs. 57.78 bn, according to the company’s reported financial results.

The minister also referred to SCI’s PAT of Rs. 13.26 bn in the previous year while outlining the company’s earnings trajectory. The figures cited at the foundation day event indicate that the company is seeking to build on its FY26 performance through stronger results in the current financial year.

SCI is a public sector shipping company involved in transporting cargo and providing maritime services. Its financial performance is being watched amid the government’s broader focus on strengthening India’s shipping capacity and maritime infrastructure, although no further operational or investment details were provided in the announcement.
