ICG Holds Marine Pollution Drill With Haldia Dock

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), in partnership with the Haldia Dock Complex (HDC), conducted a two-day Marine Pollution Response Seminar and Workshop from 21–22 May 2025 in Haldia. The event focused on strengthening preparedness, coordination, and swift response capabilities for oil spill incidents along the West Bengal coast.

The seminar, inaugurated by the ICG Commander (West Bengal), included expert presentations by specialists from the ICG and HDC, hosted at the Coast Guard Pollution Response Cell. A live demonstration of pollution response equipment was also held at HDC, providing participants with practical insights into advanced pollution mitigation systems.

The workshop saw active participation from key maritime and petrochemical stakeholders, including Kolkata Port Trust, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Haldia Refinery), Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., and Reliance Haldia Terminals, among others.
