The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the establishment of a sixth semiconductor unit under the India Semiconductor Mission. This joint venture between HCL and Foxconn will be located near Jewar airport in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area of Uttar Pradesh.The plant will manufacture display driver chips used in mobile phones, laptops, automobiles, personal computers, and other devices with displays.
