Maharashtra govt implements water improvement project
The project is also expected to improve irrigation service delivery, and productivity of irrigated agriculture.
The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) has extended financial assistance for this project.
The project is implemented under various components which provide support for institutional reforms, and capacity building in water resources management as well as irrigation service delivery, and complementary investments in improving and modernizing physical assets as described hereby.
As part of this project, the state government plans to engage contractors for remedial work of dam safety at Lanja, Sangmeshwar, Guhaghar and Chiplun taluka in Ratnagiri district.
