ORSL Wins Grant For Global Mango Waste Bioeconomy Project

Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL) has announced that its research and innovation centre, ORSRIC, has received an award grant under the prestigious international project titled “Danish-Thai-Indian Circular Bioeconomy Network for Mango Waste Valorisation.” The initiative is coordinated by the University of Southern Denmark, with research partners from Thailand, IIT Mumbai and ORSL, India. ORSL’s inclusion as a core industrial partner further strengthens its position as a leader in bio-waste valorisation, bioenergy generation and circular economy technologies.

The project has been awarded a framework grant of DKK 1,028,800 by the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science (DAHES) under the Global Innovation Network Programme. It will run from January 2026 to March 2027.

Advancing Global Circular Bioeconomy Collaboration

The project aims to develop advanced technologies and business models for waste valorisation, transforming agricultural residues into high-value bioproducts, bioenergy and sustainable materials. ORSL will contribute its expertise in anaerobic digestion, biogas and compressed biogas production, organic waste processing and commercialisation pathways for scalable waste-to-value solutions.

Dr Manju Tanwar, Head of ORS-RIC at ORSL, said the partnership represents an important step in global circular bioeconomy cooperation. She noted that collaboration with the University of Southern Denmark, IIT Mumbai and Thai partners enhances ORSL’s commitment to innovation in sustainable technologies. The project will facilitate technology exchange, joint research and scaled industrial applications, benefiting farmers, industry stakeholders and the environment.
