Praveg Wins 35-Year Deal To Develop New Dhordo Resort

Praveg Limited, India’s leading eco-responsible luxury resorts company, has received the Letter of Award on 18 November 2025 for the development, operation and management of a new resort project at Dhordo in Kutch, Gujarat.

The project includes 46 luxury tented rooms and 42 dormitories with 252 beds—equivalent to 126 standard rooms—further strengthening Praveg’s hospitality footprint in Dhordo. This expansion is in addition to the 30 Bhungas currently operated by the company under a five-year agreement.

The new resort has been awarded a concession period of 35 years, offering long-term business visibility and value creation. Praveg expects strong performance from the property, with projected Average Room Rates between Rs 12,000 and Rs 15,000 per night for rooms and Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,500 per bed for dormitories. The company anticipates occupancy levels of 55 per cent to 60 per cent, supported by rising tourist arrivals and peak demand during the annual Rann Utsav.

This development is expected to deliver substantial strategic and economic benefits, such as strengthening Praveg’s presence at a globally recognised destination, significantly increasing accommodation capacity for domestic and international visitors and generating long-term financial value through an asset-light concession model. The project will also stimulate regional socio-economic activity by creating employment and supporting tourism infrastructure, while maintaining Praveg’s focus on sustainable, low-impact hospitality.

Dr CA Vishnu Patel, Chairman of Praveg Limited, said the award reinforces the company’s expansion strategy and presence in Kutch. He expressed confidence that the project will deliver an exceptional hospitality experience, support regional tourism and create lasting value for stakeholders.

The addition of this resort marks an important milestone in Praveg’s growth within the eco-responsible hospitality sector and further enhances its portfolio of premium luxury properties across India. The development aligns with Praveg’s mission to offer sustainable, culturally rooted travel experiences while contributing to the preservation and economic upliftment of high-potential tourism destinations.
