ROADS & HIGHWAYS

Upraised Contractor

It's all smiles for C Visweswara Rao, Chairman & Managing Director, Navayuga Engineering Company. His firm recently executed India's longest elevated road- The Hindon Elevated Road - which will make it easier to commute between Delhi and Ghaziabad. The 10.3-km, six-lane elevated road is reportedly built on 227 single pillars, at about Rs 110 billion. The road also makes it easier to reach NH-58 from NH-24 (the Delhi-Meerut Highway). The project, which has been built on the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) basis, was completed in about three years and four months. Indeed a proud moment for Rao: Not just because this road will reduce the journey time between UP Gate and Raj Nagar Extension to just 10 minutes from the 45-60 minutes it took before the road opened, but also because it boasts of being NCR's longest flyover.
