The very need for economic development must encourage partnerships.

Atul Tandan, Chairman, ASAPP Media Information Group, shares his insights on the need to encourage partnerships for economic development.

Today, we believe that the venture years ago to institute some sort of information media that will address the needs of infrastructure industry ought to have achieved its presence across the industry. The construction, design, architecture and other related industries play an important role in the economic development of the country, and run the nation in a radically globalising world. When we come up with publications with cover stories that say ´India Living on Hope Street´ or ´Going Global´, we mean exactly what is being said. When we talk about India, we proudly boast about language, religion, political diversity, etc; unfortunately, we do not spend enough time talking about our infrastructure diversity. Even as we move from North-West India to North-East India, there is huge infrastructure diversity between the two. I wonder how this will reflect on the future of the country, and its economic and political emergence on a global platform. I therefore believe that we should start examining and exploring the leaders of the industry within ourselves. The very need for economic development must encourage partnerships, which not only reflect our ideology of building, but the commitment to our nation as citizens of this country. All said, infrastructure cannot be developed unless there is a partnership built on trust and commitment. Today, we have a government official present here as chief guest, and he has certainly come with rich experience. With this, I hope all of you share this common vision of partnership with me and I certainly expect that at ASAPP Media, we will with time bring to your attention this national affair.´
