RINL to shift focus to flat steel

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd has decided to expand into the flat steel business with the changing dynamics of demand. A capacity of upto 7.3 mn tonne from the current 3.3 mn tonne will be for the long steel maker. However, the 4 mn tonne that the company plans to add after the 7.3 mn tonne expansion, will focus on flat steel. RINL is already in talks with Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd and Steel Authority of India Ltd for joint ventures to cater to the country’s flat steel demand. Contact: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd.
