State govt to prioritise irrigation projects

The Andhra Pradesh Government intends to prioritise irrigation projects and make the state drought-proof within a period of five years. The state government has said that on-going projects in this sector will require an outlay of Rs 17,500 crore, excluding the Polavaram project. It has also announced that the drip irrigation project in Anantapur district will be replicated in other districts later.
