UP's infra projects face land disputes

Protest over compensation for land is hitting major infrastructure projects in western UP. The work on Bawana-Nangal-Bhatindha gas pipe line project is already behind schedule, while the others including transmission towers, Ludhiana-Khurja dedicated freight corridor, a new  rail line from Deoband to Roorkee, housing and urban development projects in Saharanpur and bypass roads in the city are facing similar situation. Power Grid Corporation Of India is constructing a 165 km long Dehradoon-Baghpat double circuit transmission line of 400 KV capacity.
