Ambuja to set up two more cement plants in WB

Ambuja Cements will set up two more units in Howrah and Hooghly with an investment of approx Rs 550 crore. At present, Ambuja's first unit at Sankrail produces 1.5 mtpa cement. The second unit will be set up at Sankrail and a third on 80 acre near Bandel Thermal Power Plant. Once the second unit is commissioned, the production will go up to 2.4 mtpa. Also, the Bandel unit, which will be built at a cost of Rs 225 crore, on completion will produce 0.6-0.9 mtpa cement.
