Birla Corp to invest Rs 1,025 cr towards expansion

Birla Corporation plans to invest about Rs 1,025 crore over the next one-and-a-half year for expanding its cement capacity. The company, presently, has a capacity to produce 7.5 mt of cement and after the expansion, it is expected to touch 9.3 mt by March 2012. Work on the 1.2 mt brownfield project for increase of capacity at Chanderia and 0.6 mt capacity addition at Durgapur is progressing satisfactorily and the projects are likely to be commissioned by November-December 2011.Contact: Birla Corporation.
