PV Rao, Managing Director, Pennar Engineered Building Systems Ltd (PEBS Pennar) received the 'Manager of the year' award for 2013 at the 41st Hyderabad Management Association Awards, held on June 24, 2013. The Chief Guest and Guest of Honour at the event was Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister for Information Technology and Communications, Government of Andhra Pradesh and Anurag Sharma, IPS-Commissioner of Police, respectively.
Qualifying factors
Rao, a graduate in Civil Engineering from JNTU, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, has been associated with PEBS Pennar since 2008. Since five years, he has been instrumental in building an excellent team in engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing and project management departments. Under his leadership, the company has grown from an annual turnover of Rs 34 crore in 2010 to Rs 325 crore in 2013 and a net profit of Rs 14.5 crore. The company has also executed projects such as the 99 m clear span building for UltraTech Cement and a warehouse building for IOT Infrastructure & Energy Services Ltd. It is also developing a multi-storied, ground + seven lab formulation building for Bharat Biotech Ltd near Hyderabad.

Rao is the Joint Secretary of Pre-Engineered Building Manufacturer's Association (PEBMA) and also a member of the Institution of Engineers, the largest multi-disciplinary engineering professional institution of India.
