Sharavathi Cable-Stayed Bridge Clears Load Test
Karnataka’s longest cable-stayed road bridge, spanning the Sharavathi backwaters between Ambaragodlu and Tumari in Sagar taluk, has passed its final load test. Engineers parked eighteen m-sand tippers on the 2.44-kilometre deck, steadily raising the static load from 25 tonnes to 100 tonnes. TBM Nayak Assembly Begins for Thane–Borivali Twin Tunnel
The first of four-giant tunnel-boring machines for the Thane–Borivali twin road tunnel is now being assembled on site at Old Dairy Farm. Vizag Metro Depots Need 100 Acres, Rs 8.9 Bn Land Spend
Visakhapatnam’s 46.23-kilometre Metro phase one will hinge on two purpose-built depots—one beside the Old Dairy Farm near VIMS, the other close to the Visakhapatnam Port Authority—each demanding 35–40 acres to house inspection lines, workshops, wash plants, stabling tracks and operating offices.
