Shortage of gas cripples plants

The Delhi Government's 1,500 MW gas-based plant in Bawana was pitched as a solution to meet the power requirements of the state. However, the shortage of gas to operate the plant has made it more of a liability. Discoms have not yet sourced power from the plant this summer season but they may be left with no choice.
