VA Tech Wabag bags oil and gas order worth $165 million in Russia

A pure-play water technology Indian Multinational Group, VA Tech Wabag, made an announcement on Monday that it secured an Engineering and Procurement (EP) order worth around Rs 1,230 crore, which is $165 million from Amur Gas Chemical Complex LLC, (AGCC) in Russia.

This technology dominant breakthrough order in the CIS region marks Wabag's most significant oil and gas sector order, especially in the Russian Federation.

SIBUR Holding Russia and China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (Sinopec), China, have a joint venture AGCC. AGCC is ready to become one of the world's largest basic polymer production facilities.

The technology and system integrator for the Integrated Treatment Facilities, the WasteWater Treatment unit, will be Wabag.

Pankaj Sachdeva, CEO of India Cluster, told the media that this order from a marquee customer in the Oil & Gas sector re-affirms that their technological superiority and implementation excellence, built over time and that they take pride in securing this contract amidst the stiff international competition, and they are confident that this project would be another landmark reference for Wabag.

Wagbag will be deploying advanced technologies to treat wastewater streams, and the facility will be having a concentrate evaporator unit to maintain Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), and the sludge will be dewatered and dried.

The company told the media that the facility is going to be designed for recycling & reusing the wastewater released from the petrochemical unit, replacing around 25% of the raw water intake requirement. The ZLD deployment and recycle and reuse make the facility environmentally friendly and meet the strict environmental regulations.

The Wabag will be performing the scope of Design, Engineering, Procurement, Supply and Supervision of the facilities during erection and commissioning, including the piping system, instrumentation/control systems, building & architectural materials, process & technology equipment and electrical.
