BSES discoms clear Rs 400 cr dues to NTPC’s Aravali Power

Two discoms, BSES Yamuna Power Ltd (BYPL) and BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd (BRPL), the two Reliance Infrastructure and Delhi Government joint ventures, recently paid their dues of Rs 400 crore to Aravali Power Corporation Private Ltd (APCL).

A BSES statement said that BYPL and BRPL have resolved the overdue issue with APCL and have paid Rs 47.34 crore and Rs 352.27 crore respectively, per the demand.

APCL, a joint venture of state-owned power generator National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd (NTPC), Indraprastha Power Generation Co Ltd (IPGCL), and Haryana Power Generation Corp Ltd (HPGCL) issued separate notices to the two Reliance-promoted discoms for defaulting on payments for the electricity they buy from its Jhajjar plant.

Earlier, NTPC had slapped discontinuation notices on five discoms across four states for Rs 1,864 crore overdue of electricity payments.
