Bongaigaon Thermal Power Station I starts generation

The first 3 x 250 MW unit of NTPC´s Bongaigaon Thermal Power Station (BTPS) in Assam recently started power generation. The state is expected to get 380 MW from the project, which was built with an investment of about Rs 4,375.35 crore. Coal for the project is being sourced from Margherita Area of North-Eastern Coal Fields and non-Raniganj coal sources of Eastern Coal Fields Ltd.
