Due to the impending coal crisis, two units of the crucial Anpara C and Rosa power plants have been shut down. While the former has a capacity of 600 MW, the latter generates 300 MW. The coal crisis may not only hit the Akhilesh Yadav government’s poll promise of providing increased power supply to the rural areas but also puts at stake the government's ambitious project to set up power plants with a combined installed capacity of 15,000 MW through the MoU route.
