Now, power dept in charge of renewable energy

To boost Prime Minister Narendra Modi´s solar energy mission, the city administration has brought its environment ministry´s Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Management Centre (EEREM) under the ambit of the power department. The EEREM has identified two models, one for government buildings and the other for private structures, for implementing its solar energy mission. The management centre is soon expected to submit its plan to the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) for final implementation. EEREM has identified the Renewal Energy Services Companies (RESCO) model for setting up solar panels in private structures.
