Adani Power continues electricity supply to Bangladesh Power Board

Adani Power Ltd is continuing its electricity supply to the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) as per their agreement, despite recent political unrest and protests in the country. A company spokesperson confirmed, ?In line with the standard operations, the BPDB has been scheduling power supply to meet national demand, and Adani Power is maintaining an uninterrupted power supply to the Bangladesh utility.? The spokesperson further noted, ?We will continue to adhere to BPDB's scheduling and the terms outlined in the power purchase agreement (PPA) between the two entities.? Since June 2023, Adani Power Ltd has been supplying electricity under the PPA with BPDB. Adani Power Jharkhand, a subsidiary, provides 1,496 MW of net capacity from its ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in Godda, Jharkhand. (ET)
