Bonfiglioli India Signs Nine MW Solar Deal with Cleantech Solar

Bonfiglioli India Pvt Ltd has entered into an agreement with Cleantech Solar to source nine megawatt-peak (MW) of solar power for its manufacturing operations in Tamil Nadu. The arrangement is structured as an open access supply that will allow the manufacturer to procure renewable electricity without direct investment in generation assets, thereby accelerating integration of low carbon power into factory operations. The supply is expected to reduce reliance on conventional grid power and to support long term energy efficiency measures across production sites.

The open access model will provide Bonfiglioli India with an offsite renewable supply while Cleantech Solar manages generation and delivery arrangements under a long term commercial framework. This approach is increasingly chosen by industrial consumers seeking lower electricity costs and more predictable energy procurement as they pursue decarbonisation and operational resilience. The model also allows companies to avoid capital expenditure on rooftop or captive plants while accessing grid connected renewable generation.

The transaction reflects a wider shift in India’s commercial and industrial renewable energy market where manufacturers are accelerating clean energy adoption in response to sustainability commitments and rising energy costs. For Cleantech Solar the deal strengthens its footprint in Tamil Nadu and reinforces its position in the industrial segment as developers scale open access portfolios to meet demand from factory customers. The project is consistent with policy incentives and growing industrial interest in long term power purchase agreements.

For Bonfiglioli India the supply forms part of a broader sustainability agenda aimed at promoting responsible manufacturing and reducing operational emissions. The partnership is intended to contribute to energy cost optimisation and to support cleaner industrial operations as businesses pursue environmental, social and governance objectives alongside productivity and efficiency improvements.
