Dreamfly Named Among 100 Desi Deeptechs

Dreamfly Innovations has been recognised among the ‘100 Desi Deeptechs’, an initiative by Startup Policy Forum in collaboration with MeitY Startup Hub, Startup India and Indian Institute of Technology Madras. The initiative highlights founders and companies building core technologies critical to India’s long-term growth and self-reliance.

The cohort includes startups working across drones and aerospace, defence technology, cleantech, robotics, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing and electric mobility. It aims to bring deeptech founders and policymakers together to strengthen India’s deeptech ecosystem.

Founded in 2022 by Kajal Shah and Dr Saurabh Markandeya, Dreamfly Innovations develops high-performance battery technologies for drones, aviation and aerospace applications. The company focuses on safety, reliability and performance in Indian operating conditions.

Its innovations address key drone battery challenges such as thermal management, operational safety and improved flight endurance without adding extra weight. These include advanced thermal cases, lightweight battery architectures and next-generation energy systems for longer and safer drone operations.

The recognition reflects India’s growing focus on reducing dependence on imported technologies in strategic sectors such as aerospace and drones. Dreamfly’s work supports domestic innovation and manufacturing capabilities as drone adoption increases across agriculture, surveillance, logistics, mapping and defence.
