Emmvee adds 2 GWp module capacity at new Bengaluru plant

Solar module maker Emmvee has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility at Sulibele near Bengaluru International Airport, adding 2 GWp capacity and taking its total to 6.6 GWp in PV modules and 2.5 GWp in solar cells.

The 4 lakh sq ft plant will employ over 500 people, including engineers, operations and management staff. Emmvee’s current workforce stands at more than 2,000.

The company said the facility features advanced automation and quality control systems, enabling production of varied module sizes and formats.

Emmvee had earlier announced plans to invest Rs 150 billion in Karnataka in phases, starting with Rs 50 billion for a 5 GW plant that will create 10,000 jobs. It has sought 120 acres in the Bengaluru ITIR region, with state support expected for land allocation.
