Envision Energy, JSW Energy to jointly develop wind energy parks

Envision Energy, a leading provider of renewable energy solutions, has secured a significant contract from JSW Energy to develop a wind energy park in Karnataka and Maharashtra. This pioneering project boasts a remarkable capacity of 653.4 MW and is set to be powered by 198 EN 156-3.3 MW Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), specially designed by Envision for the Indian wind regime.

Scheduled for completion by the end of 2024, this wind energy park is anticipated to generate 2200 GWh of clean energy, making a substantial contribution to India's goal of achieving net-zero emissions. Envision's partnership with JSW Energy marks a pivotal moment for renewable energy in Karnataka and Maharashtra, promising to enhance the region's clean energy capacity significantly.

Envision's WTGs, renowned for their optimisation capabilities in countries like China and Vietnam, have a rotor diameter of 156 meters, a hub height of 140 meters, and a rated capacity of 3.3 MW. The company has invested approximately Rs 500 crore in the Indian market, creating more than 2,000 jobs directly and indirectly.

CEO of Envision Wind Power Technologies India, RPV Prasad, emphasised the company's dedication to India's Atmanirbhar Bharat vision. Notably, components for the wind turbines, including the nacelle and hubs, will be assembled at Envision's Pune factory, while blades will be sourced from their Trichy facility. Tower components will be supplied by manufacturers in Maharashtra.

Kane Xu, Global Vice President of Envision Energy and Chairman of Envision Energy India, stressed the urgency of collaborative efforts to transition swiftly to green energy, citing the imperative need to address climate change. He hailed the partnership with JSW Energy as a significant stride toward establishing a sustainable future in India.

Envision Energy has a robust track record in India, having commissioned 330 MW of wind projects and secured contracts for an additional 4.7 GW of projects. The company has significantly bolstered its manufacturing capabilities, boasting an annual output of 3 GW for Nacelle & Hub in Pune and 2.5 GW for blades at its Trichy plant. Operating across six states in India, Envision serves 12 clients and manages operations at over 20 project sites, with an order book nearing 5 GW.
