Fourth Partner Executes 75 MWp Solar Park in Maharashtra

Hyderabad-based Fourth Partner has executed a 75 megawatt-peak (MWp) open-access solar park in Bodwad, Maharashtra, serving commercial and industrial clients across sectors. The project’s customers include Cognizant, Oerlikon Balzers, Mahanagar Gas, Raychem RPG, RenewSys India, Helvoet and Mubea.

Fourth Partner said it obtained all critical no-objection certificates (NOCs), statutory approvals and other clearances before beginning physical execution. The company implemented the project through continuous on-site monitoring, detailed planning and timely decisions aimed at resolving construction and commissioning bottlenecks.

The developer also coordinated with the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company (MSETCL), contractors and its internal teams during the project’s implementation. This coordination supported the commissioning process and helped align work across the project’s external and internal stakeholders.

The project comes as Maharashtra adjusts procedures for renewable energy evacuation planning. The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has allowed MSETCL to submit Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for renewable energy evacuation projects every month instead of following the earlier quarterly schedule.

The regulatory provision is intended to support transmission infrastructure development as renewable energy capacity expands across the state. Granted under MERC’s powers to address implementation difficulties, the relaxation will remain in force until the quarter ending April 30, 2028, under an order issued on May 26.

MERC noted that implementation schedules for renewable energy evacuation projects are often compressed by changing connectivity requirements, the integration of inter-state transmission schemes, revised commissioning timelines and right-of-way constraints. These factors can require transmission planning and project execution to be coordinated more closely with generation projects and their commissioning schedules.
