Himachal Sets Up North India’s First Green Hydrogen Plant

Himachal Pradesh has launched North India’s first green hydrogen plant at Dabhota, Nalagarh, as part of its mission to become India’s first green state by March 2026. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation for the 1 MW plant, developed by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation and Oil India at a cost of Rs 90 million. Spanning 4,000 sq m, the plant will produce 423 kg of green hydrogen daily via electrolysis powered by renewable energy. This initiative aligns with the state’s 500 MW solar energy target, reducing carbon emissions.

JSW to Invest Rs 160 Bn in Bengal Power Project
JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal has announced an investment of Rs 160 billion to develop a 1,600 MW thermal power project at Salboni, West Bengal. Speaking at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2025, he unveiled plans to double capacity with a similar-scale investment. The group will also support industrial park and infrastructure development at Durgapur airport. Secured through competitive bidding by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company, the project brings JSW Energy’s locked-in generation capacity to 30 GW.

Northern Railway Issues Tenders for 2.79 MW Solar Projects
The Northern Railway’s Moradabad division has issued tenders for two solar projects with a total capacity of 2.791 MW, to be installed across residential and service buildings, as well as level crossing gates. The projects include the design, supply, testing, and commissioning of solar systems using monocrystalline PERC half-cut modules, string inverters with maximum power point tracking, and aluminium mounting structures. The first tender, for a 1.229 MW system at residential buildings, requires an earnest money deposit of Rs 4.81 million and the second tender, covering 1.562 MW at service buildings and 35 kW at level crossing gates, requires a deposit of Rs 5.64 million.

Amazon to Source 379 MW Wind Power in India
Amazon is set to procure 379 MW of renewable energy from three wind farms in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. The company has signed agreements with CleanMax’s 100 MW project in Koppal, BluPine’s 99 MW project in Solapur, and JSW Energy’s 180 MW project in Dharapuram. With these additions, Amazon’s renewable energy portfolio in India will expand to 53 solar and wind projects, generating over 4 MWh of clean energy annually. Alongside utility-scale projects, Amazon has solar installations across 44 operational buildings. Globally, it has invested in 600+ solar and wind projects, including over 50 in India.

BHEL-Hitachi Bags 6 GW Transmission Project from Adani Energy Solutions  
A consortium of Bharat Heavy Electricals and Hitachi Energy India has received a letter of intent from Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission to set up a high-voltage direct current line commutated converters (HDVC LCC) terminal stations in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The project will include 6,000 MW HDVC LCC terminal stations at Bhadla III in Rajasthan and Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh, along with an 800 kV HVDC station (4×1,500 MW) connecting the two locations and associated AC substations. Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission is a SPV set up by Adani Energy Solutions to facilitate the evacuation of renewable energy from Rajasthan's Renewable Energy Zone. The project is expected to be completed by 2030.
