Mahagenco Floats Consultancy Tender For 200 MW Solar Project

Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) has issued a consultancy tender for the preparation of a detailed project report and associated services for eight 25 Megawatt (MW) grid-connected solar plants paired with a battery energy storage system in Maharashtra. The scope covers bid specifications, tendering activity, approval of detailed engineering, material inspections and project management. The deadline for bid submission is June 29, 2026.

Work has been divided into multiple modules including pre-FEED engineering, tender preparation, engineering review and project execution support. The consultant will be expected to prepare pre-feasibility studies, hydrology and geotechnical reviews, energy yield assessments, financial modelling and project risk analysis. Technical specifications will be required for solar modules, balance of system and battery storage packages.

The selected agency will provide bid evaluation support, review engineering designs and layouts submitted by engineering, procurement and construction contractors, and conduct grid integration studies and quality inspections. The role also covers project documentation management, commissioning assistance and monitoring of construction activities through to testing and handover. Additionally, the consultant must ensure compliance with statutory requirements and the optimisation of plant layouts and evacuation infrastructure.

Bidders must pay a tender fee of Rs 17,700 online, a processing fee of Rs 29,500 and an earnest money deposit of Rs 500,000. Eligibility requires prior experience in technical due diligence, detailed project report preparation, design engineering, owner's engineering, lender's technical advisory or project monitoring for solar or solar-hybrid projects of at least 25 MW, or completion of one FEED assignment of at least 25 MW. They must also have completed either three similar assignments worth at least Rs 20 million (mn) each, two projects worth at least Rs 25 mn each or one project valued at a minimum of Rs 40 mn, maintain a minimum average annual turnover of Rs 50 mn during the last three financial years and a net worth of at least 25 per cent of paid-up share capital.
