RECPDCL Hands Over Two Transmission Projects to PGCIL, Ceigall

REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over two special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for inter-state transmission projects to Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) and Ceigall India Limited.
The SPVs, Lakadia II Power Transmission Limited and Jam Khambhaliya Jamnagar Power Transmission Limited, were transferred on 12 October 2026. Both projects were awarded through tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) and will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis.
PGCIL secured the Lakadia II project, which will facilitate the integration of 7,500 MW of renewable energy from Gujarat's Lakadia Renewable Energy Zone. The project includes a 765/400 kV and 400/220 kV substation near Chitrod, two synchronous condensers and 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Lakadia II to Halvad (141 km), Ahmedabad (197 km) and Vataman (261 km).
Ceigall India secured the Jam Khambhaliya Jamnagar project, forming part of the common transmission system for evacuating power from Lakadia Phase II (7.5 GW), Jam Khambhaliya Phase II (5.5 GW) and Jamnagar Phase I (1 GW).
The project involves developing a 765/400 kV and 400/220 kV substation at Nasik, along with a 266-km, 765 kV double-circuit transmission line connecting Nasik to South Olpad and a 40-km, 400 kV line connecting Nasik to Pimpalgaon.
Both projects have an implementation timeline of 36 months and are expected to strengthen electricity transmission infrastructure supporting renewable energy integration.

Cement Prices Likely to Rise Rs. 10-15 per Bag from Mid-October

Cement manufacturers in India are likely to raise prices by Rs. 10-15 per bag from mid-October, as they seek to offset persistent increases in power and fuel costs.
