RenewSys Signs 1.2 GW Supply Agreement with Kosol Energie

RenewSys India has signed a 1.2 GW supply agreement with Gujarat-based solar module manufacturer Kosol Energie for photovoltaic (PV) encapsulants and backsheets. The 12-month agreement covers supplies from October 2026 to September 2027 and will support Kosol Energie’s TOPCon solar module manufacturing operations.

Under the agreement, RenewSys will provide its CONSERV POE encapsulants and PRESERV backsheets. The contract follows an earlier 1.1 GW POE encapsulant supply arrangement between the companies, which ran from December 2025 to September 2026. The latest deal expands both the volume and range of components supplied by RenewSys.

The materials will be used in Kosol Energie’s production of high-efficiency n-type TOPCon solar modules at its fully automated manufacturing facility in Gujarat. The supply will cover the company’s glass-to-backsheet module range, while the addition of backsheets gives Kosol Energie a single domestic source for two key module components.

RenewSys said its CONSERV POE encapsulants are UL certified and designed for TOPCon solar cells, with features including high volume resistivity, low water absorption and resistance to potential-induced degradation. Its PRESERV backsheets are designed to provide moisture protection and electrical insulation, supporting module durability in Indian operating conditions.

The companies said the agreement reflects rising demand for domestic solar manufacturing components as Indian producers expand TOPCon capacity. Growth is being supported by the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers, the Production Linked Incentive scheme and demand from utility-scale, commercial and industrial, and rooftop solar segments. Domestic sourcing can help manufacturers reduce import dependence, shorten procurement lead times and maintain consistent production quality. The expanded partnership therefore highlights the growing role of local component suppliers in India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem.
