Statkraft Acquires Enerfin for ?1.8 billion

Norway-based Statkraft, Europe's leading renewable energy producer and a global player in energy market operations, has agreed to acquire the Spanish renewable energy company Enerfin from Elecnor Group. The acquisition, valued at an estimated enterprise value of 1.8 billion EUR, including equity and debt, subject to customary adjustments at completion, will add 1.5 GW of operational and under-construction renewable energy capacity to Statkraft's portfolio, along with a strong pipeline of projects. This is a significant milestone for Statkraft, said Christian Rynning-T?nnesen, CEO of Statkraft. Enerfin is a well-established company with a highly skilled team and an attractive portfolio that aligns well with Statkraft's strategy. This acquisition will create further value for our customers, shareholders, and society as it represents a major contribution to the green energy transition and the path towards net-zero emissions. The acquisition reinforces Statkraft's position as Europe's largest renewable energy producer and places the company among the top ten wind power producers in Spain, complementing its existing solar projects portfolio in the country. Additionally, it strengthens Statkraft's position as one of the three largest wind power producers in Brazil, with over 1.5 GW of installed capacity. The transaction is subject to public approvals in the respective countries and is expected to close during the first half of 2024. Enerfin employs a skilled team of approximately 170 people, mainly based in Madrid.
