UP Aims to Install 8 Lakh Rooftop Solar Units by March 2027

The Uttar Pradesh government aims to install 8 lakh rooftop solar systems by March 2027 under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. With 2.65 lakh installations targeted in 2025–26 and 22,000 units per month, the initiative is already gaining traction—over 1 lakh units have been installed so far. BHEL, BARC to Develop Indigenous Hydrogen Electrolysers
BHEL has inked a technology transfer agreement with BARC to locally develop alkaline electrolyser systems using BARC’s Mixed-Matrix Membrane Diaphragm Technology. This move aims to reduce dependency on imported components such as Zirfon and asbestos-based diaphragms, bolstering India’s green hydrogen goals. The collaboration will support domestic manufacturing of cost-effective electrolysers, vital for producing green hydrogen for steel, fertilisers, and transport sectors. Reinforcing its clean energy push, BHEL recently posted a 123 per cent Y-o-Y jump in Q3 FY25 net profit to Rs 1.34 billion, with revenue rising 32 per cent to Rs 72.77 billion.
