WattPower Secures 1 GW Solar Inverter Order from ReNew

WattPower has secured an order from ReNew for the supply of 1 GW of utility-scale solar inverters, with deliveries scheduled during FY28, the company said on Tuesday. The agreement covers both of WattPower’s inverter platforms for deployment in large solar power projects.

The order includes the company’s 330KTL string inverter and its next-generation WP-506KTL grid-forming inverter. WattPower said the two platforms are designed to support utility-scale solar installations operating under varying grid conditions.

The WP-330KTL is intended for established utility-scale applications, while the WP-506KTL adds grid-forming capabilities to solar power generation. The latter technology is designed to help power systems respond to changing operating conditions as the proportion of renewable energy in electricity networks increases.

WattPower said the agreement reflects continuing demand for inverter technologies that can support large-scale solar deployment while addressing the changing requirements of modern power grids. Grid stability and system management are becoming more important as renewable energy capacity expands and generation becomes more variable.

Divya Prakash Choraria, managing director of WattPower, said the agreement would take the company’s partnership with ReNew forward and indicated the trust developed between the two companies. He added that WattPower would support ReNew’s upcoming projects and evolving grid requirements through the 330KTL and WP-506KTL platforms.

Supplies under the 1 GW agreement will cover both inverter models and are scheduled for the next financial year, identified by the company as FY28. The order strengthens WattPower’s participation in the utility-scale solar equipment market and gives ReNew access to string and grid-forming inverter technologies for its planned projects.
