Bihar is likely to get a floating solar power generation unit of 2 MW capacity in Darbhanga. The unit has been commissioned to Avaada Energy and will be set up over a six-acre pond. It is located 200 km from Patna. The project further aims to promote pisciculture. A power purchase agreement has been signed between Avaada and Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) for 25 years. The power received by BREDA from the plant will then be supplied to local consumers via North Bihar Power Distribution.
