Chinese Co to invest in Tamil Nadu power project

Shangdong Electric Power Company-III (SEPCO-III), a Chinese EPC contractor, is planning to invest in a 1,320-MW thermal power project at Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu. The project is being promoted by GEMAC Energy Ltd, a Tamil Nadu-based company that is entering the power sector. SEPCO-III will procure the main pieces of equipment - boilers and turbine-generators - from one of the three large Chinese equipment manufacturers - Harbin, Shanghai Electric and Dongfang.
