Gunjan Vakharia, Head of Mobility Business, Siemens Ltd, in view of the huge Rs.3770 million project order from Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for electrification of Mumbai Metro Line 2B, said that this project will be instrumental in improving the city’s transportation infrastructure. It was awarded this significant order as part of a consortium along with Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) and its share as part of the consortium is `2280 million while RVNL’s share is `1490 million. The company will provide state-of-the-art electrification solutions and commission, manufacture and install rail electrification solutions and provide supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems for 20 stations and one depot in the city while RVNL will commission the receiving substations (RSS) solutions.
