Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister, Civil Aviation, during inauguration of Wings India 2024, Asia's largest event on civil aviation at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad unveiled the Air India Airbus A350. He said that the government aims to become the third-largest domestic and international civil aviation market in the world.He said that India is the seventh largest international aviation market and fifth when domestic and international capabilities are combined. He said that it is the government’s resolve to move from being the fifth-largest domestic and international civil aviation market in the world to the third-largest domestic and international civil aviation market.Citing statistics, he said that domestic passenger traffic grew from 60 million to145 million and that last year it was 152 million. The minister said that India has experienced a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of close to 15 per cent in the last 10 years. By 2030, the country is on target to become a 300 million domestic aviation market, which means doubling from the current levels.
