The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has approved the incorporation of Madhya Pradesh’s ATAL progress-way project in the Bharatmala Pariyojana phase-1 in the highways sector projects. The new expressway passes through the Bhind, Morena, and Sheopur districts of the Chambal region and connects Jhansi in east Uttar Pradesh and Kota in west Rajasthan and would be 404 km long in Madhya Pradesh. Tenders for this project worth Rs.70 bn are expected to be invited soon.
